A Few Words from Chairperson
Building a network for regional medical care, that can withstand the super-aging society.
The Shouenkai Medical Foundation(Tokatsu Dialysis Hospital & Clinics JAPAN), which was established at the current location in 1973, has greatly contributed to the regional healthcare by offering expert level in dialysis and emergency treatment, especially in the area of chronic kidney diseases and related areas of medical care.
Being pioneers of dialysis, we demonstrate a high degree of specialization combined with our expertise in medical technology, and have achieved excellent results shown in the high rate of long-term survival within our patients.
The Shouenkai Medical Foundation(Tokatsu Dialysis Hospital & Clinics JAPAN) consists of a total of 8 facilities with the Tokatsu Clinic Hospital as the main institution and 7 direct management dialysis clinics, all connected with one common electronic medical record. This cooperation system allows a coherent medical care service, covering dialysis introduction, outpatient dialysis care and dialysis hospitalization.
The medical insurance system of the Japanese dialysis patients progressed during the past 40 years, approximately 320,000 patients receive dialysis treatment in Japan. On the other hand, only around 1,700 renal transplantations are carried out annually, because of few donors.
Since the Shouenkai Medical Foundation(Tokatsu Dialysis Hospital & Clinics JAPAN) was established some 40 years ago, Japan’s medical system has developed efficiently by the support of the growth and aging of the Japanese population. The next 40 years Japan will confront an unprecedented society with decrease in general population but increase in super-aging of its people.
These social changes inevitably bring drastic changes to Japan’s health system. We, the Shouenkai Medical Foundation(Tokatsu Dialysis Hospital & Clinics JAPAN), are focusing on the imminent depopulation and super-aging society. Together with our local residents we are finding ways of how regional medical care should be developed best for the coming future.
The journey ahead might become difficult at times, but concentrating our group’s collective efforts, we will be able to challenge the medical care of the future.
In particular, our main medical institute Tokatsu Clinic Hospital, we have put our focus on collaborative medical care. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, as well as chronic kidney disease(CKD) being our main focus, we considered the team approach to be vital to increase the level of treatment we provide.
We are convinced that the continuous improvement of our medical team corresponding timely with innovative medical care has heightened our own know-how, too.
Furthermore, we have been constantly improving the quality of medical services. As a result, we have great confidence in providing the best treatment possible, supported by our high nursing competence.
Moreover, we successfully collaborate with other hospitals ensuring the best treatment for our patients.
